Mark Rickert is truly unique and gifted. As a young boy, he experienced trauma that forever changed his life. His passion to write became the driving force that gave his life meaning.
He went on to serve eight years as a journalist in the U.S. Army Reserves. He continues to serve his country in a civilian capacity as Chief of Public Affairs at Fort George G. Meade, MD.
His first book, The Tone Poet, has consumed him for 10 years; he started writing the story while serving a tour of duty for the U.S. Army in Iraq during 2003-2004.
A native of Nashville, TN, Mark now lives with his wife, Catherine, and daughter, Rowan, in Annapolis, MD, on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay.
Mark holds a Masters degree in English from Middle Tennessee State University.
